Resort Advisory Group is a legitimate timeshare exit company that may be able to help you with canceling your timeshare. Based out of Irvine California, the company has been in business for about 10 years now.
At first glance, RAG has a unique website, well designed and equipped with essential information. The information distinguishes them from their competitors. They don’t try and overdo it with fancy endorsements like other companies, and they offer great services, one specifically, an escrow financial option.
Escrow is the safest way you can exit your timeshare because it holds the exit company accountable. We always recommend speaking to our team before working with any exit company so you stay protected from any timeshare scams!
Reviews
Resort Advisory Group Reviews
Resort Advisory Group reviews are mostly positive. The company offers an escrow option which immediately stood out to our team because not every exit company offers this service, and the ones that do offer it, do not like to mention it. Our team only recommends exit companies that offer an escrow option because it protects you against a timeshare exit scam. Learn more about escrow, click here.
As we mentioned earlier, escrow holds the exit company accountable because if they fail to help cancel your timeshare, they do not receive payment. How it works is a neutral third-party is brought in to hold onto your money during the cancellation process. The exit company now has an incentive to work harder on your case, versus a 100% Money-Back Guarantee where you pay the exit company up-front and they can essentially not work hard or even file bankruptcy!
Client testimonials are an important aspect of an exit company that wishes to stand out. As we continued to review the company’s homepage, we came across a section where some of their past clients shared their satisfying experiences with the company. We would have preferred video testimonials, however, the company has a well-established reputation on multiple platforms with written reviews mentioning excellent customer service.
Various Resort Advisory Group reviews stated the company has a very detailed “FAQ” page on their website. The Frequently Asked Questions page is full of useful information about the company as well as pages where they address common questions owners have. We always recommend timeshare exit companies that provide a FAQ page for their customers. The company does well here by providing timeshare owners with beneficial knowledge on how they operate as well as addressing any concerns they may have.
After reviewing the exit process page, we were able to confirm the company uses attorneys during the cancelation process. Our team believes the most legitimate way to cancel your timeshare is through an attorney. Some exit companies don’t even work with attorneys, they just claim they do and pressure the resort with numerous cancelation letters written on your behalf. At the end of the day you signed a legally binding document, would you rather have the assistance of a professional? Or a few agents who write cancellation letters on your behalf?
From Resort Advisory Group’s “FAQ” page, we determined their average time to cancel your timeshare contract lasts 6-12 months. Our team agrees with their statement, it is a standard in comparison to other exit companies. A statement that really stood out to our team is Resort Advisory Group uses fraudulent misrepresentations to cancel your contract. This is different from other exit companies in that Resort Advisory Group is specific and selective in who they help. This is a very positive sign because it demonstrates the company is not greedy.
You want to stay away from exit companies who claim they can help everyone and try to charge you up-front, without any knowledge of your current situation. An attorney looks for misrepresentations in your contract in order to build a strong legal case. Working directly with a licensed attorney is the safest and most legitimate way to cancel your timeshare contract.
Resort Advisory Group also offers credit protection programs for their customers. Our team spoke directly with the company’s specialist and they informed us they would protect your credit during the cancellation process. Not every exit company offers credit protection. Be cautious of anyone who tells you to stop making your payments on your timeshare without offering any protection or guarantee you won’t receive derogatory marks on your credit. Exiting your timeshare contract can be a lengthy process. Imagine 6-12 months of not making any payments without any means of credit protection? You will seriously put your credit score in jeopardy and risk the resort pursuing legal action against you.
Read the full statement below where Resort Advisory Group mentions they will help eliminate all liability from your contract:
Speaking directly with a specialist truly helped reassure us with any concerns that we had. Our questions were answered efficiently and the company did not pressure us into signing anything with them. A reputable exit company will always put its customers first.
Cost & Fees
Resort Advisory Group Fees & Cost
Similar to their competitors, Resort Advisory Group fees are not posted online. There’s nothing strange here, most exit companies determine a final price after evaluating your current situation. Fees can definitely range and we always recommend haggling! Also, If an exit company pressures you into releasing your credit card information, without any knowledge of your situation, run away! Typically greedy companies that fit this description, are most likely scammers.
What distinguishes Resort Advisory Group from its competitors is its numerous, yet beneficial financing options. And from the information our team gathered, we determined Resort Advisory Group costs can run $3,000-$6,000, which is a relatively standard range in the timeshare exit industry. Still, we advise you to try and negotiate for a lower price. If the fees vary, then you can always ask for a better deal. Nothing is set in stone, and this will only benefit you.
Ratings
Resort Advisory Group Ratings
As of January 2021, Resort Advisory Group Ratings are positive on various platforms. On the Better Business Bureau, the Resort Advisory Group BBB rating page has an A+ rating with a 4.12/5-star rating out of 17 consumer reviews. They also have a 4.8/5-star rating on the Resort Advisory Group Facebook page out of 23 reviews.
We would prefer it if the company had a stronger online presence, but they are rated on multiple platforms which is a positive sign. Resort Advisory Group also has a strong track record in the cancellation industry, boosting its reputation overall. Below is a recent review from a past client demonstrating their satisfaction with the company:

Matt failed to mention that we have since gotten them out of their contract with Diamond Resorts and mailed them a resolution letter. Granted things were moving slower than we’d like due to Covid, we held up our end of the deal and got them out.

In June 2020, I paid over$7,000 to Rag, and another 750 to their attorney. After two years this company has done absolutely nothing to help me. I called numerous times and received numerous excuses including COVI D, short staff, etc. The fact remains this company just takes your money and laughs at you. Stay away.

This company is very honest and upfront I received free advice on how I can cancel my time share contract without having to pay a dime. The agent I worked with (Ethan C)followed up with me to make sure I was able to cancel my contract even though I didn’t end up doing business with them. I would definitely recommend seeking them for their advice and opinion on canceling time shares they are very helpful!

We had our doubts that we could get out of our timeshare with Wyndham. We thought this may be a scam. It was not. It took a bit longer because of Covid-19 BUT everything that was promised was delivered. We are free! We highly recommend RAG!

The Resort Advisory was very helpful with helping myself and my family out of our timeshare contract. After the timeshare presentation we were very bashful to talk about anything timeshare related. The whole process with this company made us feel comfortable and I could tell everyone at this company had our best interests in mind. Being locked into a timeshare contract is one of the most stressful thing I have experienced in my lifetime. I’m glad there are companies like this that exist and for making me feel like this financial obligation could easily be resolved.
